Special functions

We have developed a number of specialised modules to take account of specific needs and processes. Like the other modules, these specialised modules are closely integrated with the rest of the platform.

Emergency overview
The ”Emergency overview” and “Emergency Information” modules are used by emergency wards for managing patients received by the emergency wards. Emergency Information records the information about a patient, after which the patient is automatically logged in to the Emergency Patient module. The Emergency Patient module manages the emergency treatment workflow. The Emergency Patient module supervises which patients are currently in the emergency care ward, the priority of these patients, who is responsible for them and which activities must be carried out. Other viewable information includes where the patient is located, their care category, etc. The Emergency Patient module also has a built-in monitoring function which notifies the user when new laboratory results are entered into the patient’s medical records. It is also possible to select which information should be viewable in the Emergency Patient module, i.e. the entire emergency treatment pathway, for a specific unit only, or for a specific medical specialist only. It is easy to go back to specific dates and see which patients were hospitalised in the emergency ward on a specific day and which actions were performed.

Ext. system/service
Using the External Systems and Services function, it is easy to integrate the patient portal with systems from other suppliers. In order for the user to be able to follow the patient in certain care processes, TakeCare has integrated processes with various types of special systems. For instance, TakeCare can receive ambulance records from one application and medical-record data from an intensive care system.

Coordinated planning
Coordinated care planning supports the communication between the municipality and the county council during ordinary care planning for patients ready for discharge. Coordinated care planning monitors and manages the sharing of all information. A separate signalling system helps the user to know which step in the process is next. A process overview presents the status of all ongoing coordinated care planning processes.

Overviews are used to present an extract of a patient’s medical records in an easy-to-grasp manner. The overviews retrieve information from various parts of the medical records and present this information in a combined picture. The overviews can also be used to navigate in the patient’s medical records. The overviews are created at a user level, for the entire care unit or for all units in the system.

TakeCare Intelligence
TakeCare contains large volumes of structured information which are indispensible for performing fast, precise follow-up. TakeCare Intelligence makes this information available for analysis and statistics, which in turn makes it possible to follow up on results and quality – thereby providing the basis for making well-founded decisions. This increases patient safety and care quality.

TakeCare Xchange
The TakeCare Xchange platform makes it possible to share real-time information between TakeCare and other systems. Today’s strict requirements imposed on shared patient information increase the need for flexibility and open communication between various information systems. To meet these challenges, we have developed TakeCare Xchange, which enables standardised integration between TakeCare and other systems for secure exchange of real-time information. TakeCare Xchange is a service-based integration platform based on Microsoft .Net online services and Remote Procedure Calls (RPC). Other systems access TakeCare Xchange via their online services whereas TakeCare clients get direct access to Xchange via RPC.
